Fucking epic! I'll always love Glamis and think of it as my one place on Earth. Half my ashes are going in the Super Bowl at sunset in November there and the other half in the Pacific. I couldn't think of a better place to spend the day riding.

You either get the Imperial Sand Dunes or you don't. I've been faithfully riding there for 40 years. Thanks for sharing. Fuck anyone that doesn't get it.

If you can get there on non crowded days and with people that know where to go you can't help but have an epic day.

Dude wet sand is the best! I would love to do that, I have ridden at Mt St Helens with friends up there many many times, and got to race Washougal too couple years ago, but would love to bring a paddle tire up there and see the dunes that sounds awesome! U have any pics of that place?

Love me some Dunes. Not glamis, but I live 15 minutes away from Pismo beach. Here is a photo I took a while back there

I love riding the dunes as well.........but I hate having to worry about being taken out by a sand rail, and I really hate what it does to my bike. A really good friend of mine was killed in Dumont Dunes and riding Glamis or Dumont really hasn't been the same since.

Jumped it a bunch back in '99 on a CR250. Fourth gear mid or 3rd pinned. We taped it off 75 to safety & 90-95' to smooth landing. I have a bunch of pics and video but at work and they are at home. Loved that place would like to head back down some day.................

The best conditions is and empty day (non weekend) AFTER a huge wind storm the sand gets perfectly smooth. Dry is my favorite for general riding but if it was wet is good for certain smaller size jumps. The big ones don't matter the dry actually keeps the takeoffs smoother cuz the sand just slides back into the takeoff line. Riding / camping in the wind out there sucks. One reason I tend to stay away from Pismo also the salt in air is a little more rough on bike in Pismo. Gets wet at night there like Meg.
