I just don't understand why there aren't more areas of marked trails. Is that not something that is profitable for a track. I race cross country but you can't ever find anywhere to practice around the DFW area unless you want to risk this exact kind of accident.
If I want to "practice", meaning ride at speed....I'll go on a weekday early in the morning (reduces the risk dramatically...since virtually nobody is out). Otherwise, I just pick my spots....if I can't see around a corner, I slow down...

Although, on one of my favorite trails, I almost cleaned out a full grown man on a little kids bike (like a 50 or something like), and he was several miles from a truck (I honestly think he brought that little bike out to the desert and planned on riding it around...makes no sense to me? Why would a grown man ride a little kids bike in the desert?), anyway, I was cruising along at a pretty good clip and I thought I had clear vision all the way through this little "dog leg" "s-curve" (whatever you want to call it) section in the trail...when out of nowhere this dude on the little kid bike pops up out of nowhere....he was sitting so low to the ground that I couldn't see him. Scared me to death (I didn't pee myself though)...a close call.

What sucks on that trail, in particular, is that there are a half a dozen or more really blind corners that you have to be as committed as a Villo red light corner just to 'get through it', if you know what I mean.

You want to look ahead as much as possible, and try to look through the bushes.

That one with the grape lady is a classic. I wonder what the damage was. Besides her pride.

It could have been his camel bak that burst and he didn't realize it.

Laughing 'cause it seems he was that "hurt" only 'cause he pissed himself. Kinda looks like Honda Valley. I heard that place carries some hefty fines if you're caught riding there anymore. Used to ride it in the 80's...was pretty much fun.
