Dunno why people can't be a bit less negative, the dude wanted this to happen, probably knew deep down it wont fit, but asked just to make sure. Nothing wrong with that.Cool

I have one of those to my CRF, and it doesn't make much sense other that it looks damn cool, and is protective as well! Here's a company selling a kit, but they use a mold, something you obviously need to build as well. The cool thing though is that if you manage to do this, there's a whole new brave world waiting for ya! Smile

Have no idea how strong this is? But sure looks pretty nice!!!

Ever heard the old saying "ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer"???

The guy at the company told you it wont fit, yet you dont believe him and you ask a bunch of guys who have probably never tried it because the guy at the company told them it wont fit. Then you get butt hurt because someone thought it was a dumb question. See the irony here?

Ever heard the saying.. lifes too short to be a prick???

The guy at the company told me as i said above, that he didnt make one for my bike, not that one of the crf ones would or would not fit, which was my question.. i dont usually repeat myself, but i will make an acception for retards like yourself.. I asked a bunch of guys and i got an answer from someone who " has never tried it" Isnt that ironic? He proceeded it wouldnt work cause he new 1st hand.. See the irony in askin a question and getting an answer? I also find it strange that i get 11 decent answers and one that finds it dumb... See the irony here?

This is the truth, not ur version of bullshit. anything else i can help you with cupcake?

yea, i dont know what is wrong with people. A question cant get asked and answered here without a bunch of half assed, negative responses from Tom Dick and Harry. has anyone seen the OP's bike? It makes half the bikes on the gate at A1 look clapped.

Carbon fiber is cool, some of the carbon decals are ok but nothing beats real carbon fiber.

please dont ruin your bike by putting fake carbon on it...... do it right or dont do it at all.

if you cant get a lightspeed one.....get some material to make carbon....its really not that hard to mold a tank cover. then drill the holes out for mounting.

you can find plenty of carbon fiber raw material kits on ebay.

Watch ebay because you will find carbon fiber silencers every now and then and it does not matter if it fits your bike because they are easy to modify to fit all you need is a stock silencer to fit your bike and cut off the all of the tubing from the stock silencer and then weld it on the carbon fiber one and the mount brackets are just clamps that slide on the carbon body. I have had 4 or 5 of them I made work on my YZ250 and shifter kart and they look soooooo cool.

Seriously? I said i asked the guy if they sold one for my year/model bike.. he said no. My question was would any of the crf ones would fit cause he never told me they would, he simply told me they dont make one for my bike..

Example.. I order stuff from hondapartsdirect.. I saw hrc master brake covers on their website. They were listed to fit 2009-2011 crf 250's and 450's.. i asked them if they would fit my bike.. they told me they were for the same years as listed.. Guess what happened? They missed out on over $200 worth of stock sold.. I find another website, i asked them if they fit my bike, they tell me they are all compatable, so they would work,,

My point is.. you dont ask, you dont get.. if i listened to hondapartsdirect i wouldnt have what i wanted now would i?

Sorry I was making fun of us guys on vital more than you because there are some real goofballs that offer advice that don't know anything. As you can tell I love carbon fiber and the guys at lightspeed have been real helpfull in the past but then again they cant know what all might fit. Some times it just takes a small amount of modification to make something work that wasn't made for tthat model.

shorouds are different. if you are going to do this, it needs to be an 02-04 crf450 one.

You should get one of the wooden ones from the early 1900s that had the big wheels in the front. and a monocle/pocket watch combo. That would be stylish.

Lol, pretty much not surprised by your hostility. All I did was point out that you were making yourself look a bit silly. Nothing even close to reason enough for you to get your panties in a bunch like you are. I guess some people don't really get humor, or in your case, common sense either. If someone tells me they don't make a part that fits my bike, I pretty much take his word that they dont make the part to fit my bike. If I was him, I wouldn't even entertain an inquiry as to if it could be adapted because sure as shit someone would buy the part, try to make it fit, fail, fuck up the part and then come back to the manufacture and make their lives miserable because it didnt fit. Ask any parts guy at any bike shop if people do this. I guarantee you most with say "hell yes they do!"

So...........lighten up Francis, life's to short to be so stressful and unhappy with one's self. And try to grow a bit of a thicker skin, this is Vital after all.

I havent read the whole thread so I dont know if this has been stated or not, but your best bet would be an early (02-04) CRF cover if anything. The early 450s were very similar in the plastic shape.

Just a thought.

If they don't have a carbon tank cover see if they still the sell the combination tank cover/rad shroud extenders. I put one on my 04 CRF450 supermoto when I put it on the street to help with the cooling in stop and go traffic. If you don't want the shroud extenders you can always trim them off and keep the tank cover portion.

The dinock will bubble off in no time. Gas seeps through plastic and you'd need to cut slits or holes in the dinock to get any sort of longevity. Even then it won't last long. It's cheap though. Problem is it looks cheap too.
