Tis way better than it used to be Geoff...

Rode there last for the KTM ride day on the new track, was a nice layout even though it was slicker than an oil spill on ice...

Does get very choppy rough tho, so can be very un fun but on the other hand it's a good skills track...

Yep as crush said, track is sick when prepped, but you need to have the right attitude to ride it when it is rough. Have to attack the track knowing that you are out there improving your riding and fitness, it is hard work.

I got to be honest, I've only been there a few times, back in the 80's for some NSW champs, from memory a round of the MR MX and again in around 2004 for a race. Great spot as are so many Aussie tracks and it did get rough the times I visited. Because it is such a flat area it was a little boring. I guess it's good for watching as you get plenty of good viewing area's.

Bringing back sum memories right here! I lived in sydney for a year.. im from bermuda. Appin was the first track i rode cause it was only 30 min from cronulla where i lived. IMO its a good training track.. its awesome when its groomed like said above but that hardly happens so for training you kinda want the rough stuff.. but good elevation up threw the hillsand flows pretty good... matt and jake moss showed up a few times to train when i was there..

I dont know if you just started riding and are looking for tracks but if you live in sydney.. appin is the closest.. Then mount kembla, just over an hour if i remember right.. awesome nationla track, always groomed pretty good.. u have to drive up a moun tain to get to it..

Then nowra.. its like a 2 hour drive.. sandy dirt.. nice track and wicked trails..
My favorite was Freeflight motocross park.. like a 5 1/2 hour drive near mudgee.. But that place is fuckin amazing! Always groomed every morning.. deep sandy soil.. the main mx track is over 3 k long with over 100 jumps.. dual line track.. enduro.. gp tracks.. trails.. nothing bad to say about freeflight.. Damm i miss that country!

Get there before lunch on saturday before it gets to torn up by the weekend warriors and dried out. The race track down the bottom is good fun aswell, but i personally like the main track layout more.

Depending on what level you're riding at aswell, its pretty much your best option in sydney. Kembla is a fair bit more full on if you're just getting started its very easy to get intimidated out there, with the high speeds, steep down hills and fast local boys like the marmonts out there.

I'll never complain about track prep. If its not up to scratch go home and sit on the couch. 99 % of the time the guys who complain would be last in line if they asked for help to get it prepped.

Mt Kembla is my favourite track I have ever ridden. Big hills fast sections. I love it, pity I live 2000 klm away.
