Most reviewers will tell you Android phones have surpassed the iPhone,Android now have a 52% market share now,Apple and Blackberry have around 15% each,Apple keep updating old handsets,(then bring out a white oneLaughing ) Apple are no doubt the masters of the media, with very clever marketing and advertising, most people don't know that they were not the first smartphone, touchscreen or even 3G,which backs up their marketing skills, still awesome phones, the next iPhone may well catch up to the current trends with a bigger screen,SD card, faster processor and have features already out on other handsets like HTC's 3D, true HD screen on the LG ,Face unlock etc,but Apple will make their usual song and dance like they invented the stuff, they'll certainly have to pull something out of the hat as the Google Ice Cream Sandwich UI for Android is awesome,Android beam is pretty clever When the devices are in range —within a few centimeters —the system sets up an NFC connection and displays a sharing UI. To share whatever they are viewing with the other device, users just touch the screen For example, it can let users instantly exchange contacts, set up multiplayer gaming, join a chat or video call, share a photo or video, and so on,
I think we'll see more Windows handsets next year too

We're talking smartphones here and Android surpassed the iPhone (IOS) and Blackberry (RIM) etc, there's nothing stopping Apple and Nokia joining forces and putting out a lot more handsets under th same OS for example, point taken in your link but the fact is that people do actually make the smartphone comparison of Android vs IPhone (IOS) etc anyhow, mainly as all the Androids a basically the same to use,3 people in the thread refer to their phone as a"Droid" and dont mention the brand as they're all under the same blanket
Afterall when talking about computers, everyone compares the PC'/windows to Apple

Where talking smartphones not IOS vs android in which if you take operating systems in the U.S. According to reports released this month by comScore, if you factor in all of the devices that use iOS including iPhones, iPads and iPod touches, Apple reached 37.9 million people. Android, according to the data, reached 23.8 million on phones and tablets.

Motorola says it shipped 13.7 million smartphones in 2010. The company didn’t specify Droids, but we’ll count them all anyway.

In comparison, Apple shipped 47.49 million in 2010, outpacing Motorola by more than three times.

Compare phone to phone.
You can compare anything you want at the end of the day,Android/iPhone is the one generally used, the point shows how Android has become hugely popular, any of the Android handsets are very good,

Very different story worldwide:
Worldwide smartphone operating system (OS) market share according to Gartner
2011
market share
Android
38.5%
BlackBerry
13.4%
iOS
19.4%
Symbian
19.2%
Windows Phone/Mobile
5.6%
Others
3.9%
Total smartphones sold
468 million

Interesting enough, but anyhow the talk was Android or iPhone so its a bit irrelevant Blink

I hear ya, I was thinking if you just wanted to check it out without committing to the whole install that might be an option.
Just re-read my post and realized I didn't make that clear.
