Worth the price??

I can buy a new 2008 RMZ250 for 4,200 or a used 2010 RMZ250 for 6,200 is the EFI worth the price difference and the thought of purchasing a used 4-stroke? Haven't rid a EFI bike, last bike was an 04' YZ250F....what are is your advice?

$6200 for a used 2010 sounds really high. I've seen 2010 250F's around the $4000 range. Shop around (Craigslist) because there are much much better deals on bikes than the ones you asked about(at least in the Carolina's). JMHO

It's still a buyers market.

Yeah 6200 is alot for a used 2010, unless it has an assload of upgrades. I would shop around on craigslist and other sites too, im sure theres better deals. Unless you really need a bike now, wait it out a little while and you will find a deal worth waiting for. If you Rush while buy a used bike you may be dissapointed when there a great deal that you missed. Check KBB.com for estimated prices so you dont get ripped off.

Okay sounds good, if I can find an 10' for around $4200 then I'll go for it, if not a new 08' for $3400 will have to do

I just sold my '08 RMZ250 and bought a 2010 KX250F because I wanted a 250F with more motor (I'm 185 lb's). The bike handles great and I really never had any problems, except for the trans jumping out of gear between 2nd/3rd and 3rd/4th - if you haven't heard about this make sure you do a google search and some reading. The motor is SUPER weak though. I changed the gearing and added an FMF 4.1 system with Megabomb header and it was still kind of a turd in the motor department.

Just thought I would share my experience, depending what you're looking for out of your new 250F you could be very happy with the '08 or you could find yourself looking for more as soon as you ride it.

Buying a used 250f is like getting a handgranade with the pin already pulled. It will blow up you just have no idea when.
