Watched him as a kid.
Knew he was a cantankerous bitcher, but that made him fun

Saw some of work as a writer from The Stars and Stripes WW2 era. The man saw a lot. Loved his work on 60 minutes. He just retired, didn't he? Shame he couldn't enjoy it. RIP.

He was cantankerous alright, but he was very logical and had a great deal of common sense.

RIP Andy.

Actual "Journalist" like him are indeed a dying breed.

We should all hope to be as articulate and logical into our 90's.

He could have done this subject..............

"Why is it that people that love what they do never seem to last long after the retire?"

I liked Rooney, but doesn't that quote come off as hypocritical?
If he's not "Pushing" atheism, why mention it at all?

Damn Scottie, you're just a damn kid! Smile I guess you have it worse than me. I was only feeling about 74 when I was 42. Now I'm somewhere around 110!

Ya but 26yrs in a chair takes a pretty big toll man...and a lot of those early years were "hard livin" if ya know what i mean.

How old are you anyway? i recall seeing it on here awhile ago, but dont remember exactly.

It scares me man, i only have one friend who has been in a chair longer than i have, he is 52 and a school teacher at a continuation school for trouble kids. Really good dude, but has totally kept himself in shape, use to push marathons in his chair kinda like DB.

When Magoo passed away it literally scared the shit out of me...he and i both did a lot of that "hard livin" together back in the day. I cant imagine the # of years that took off our lives! But you cant really compare Dannys injury to mine, a whole different ballgame being a quad...

If I remember right, it was because he got a lot of letters asking about it (I think it was in a book he wrote) and some not so nice letters about his choice to be an Atheist

I think that's just Formspring trying to increase their traffic. Click the X and ask away.

But pace yourself. I received your brilliant "Don't you mean Jesse/You're gay! " question three times in a row. I'm not positive that site can contain that much wit at once.
