im inclined to believe that we may have secretly financed this uprising?

is it just me, or does it seem like we are now gonna get their oil?

i talked to some friends who did a bit of research on this whole situation. i didnt like what i was hearing.

No secret we had skin in the game.
We, with NATO approval, along with England, France and others, gave air support to the rebels.
Obama said we would, and also said we would not put one American boot on the ground.
Cost us about a billion dollars and not one US life

Say what you will, but Obama ain't fucking around when it comes to terrorists and terrorism

Killed Bin Laden, pissed off the Paki's in doing it (remember when McCain gave him shit for saying we'd go get Bin Laden if the Paki's wouldn't?)
Killed Al Awlaki, the little piss ant traitor who encouraged Al Hassan at Ft Hood
Seems we're killing someone in AQ daily

For a liberal pansy, he's not fucking around

yeah, but im one of those people who think the "terrorist" term is just another word for "foreigners who wont play ball" with us.

we've committed far more "terrorist" (the common definition, not mine) acts than anyone.

one mans terrorist is anothers revolutionary. lets just call it what it is, they have resources we want. and we are taking them. been going on since the begining of time.

and to think the republican's have the rep for being imperialistic. i dont think the left is any different, they just market their military coup's much better.

Total and BP get the oil contracts, cheap oil in Europe's backyard and relieved of a dangerous dictator who funded terror win-win situation IMO

i get the first part of your statement. its brutal honesty.

but why the need to try and morally justify this coup by bringing in the who "funded terror" propaganda. has what is going on in libya not been terror for those who live there? did we not fund it? are we not funding terror?

i could go on and on about the many examples of "terror" that is funded by us/europe.

so please, none of us hide behind that. it shouldnt make you feel better about what went on just cause he "funded terror". lets just be honest with ourselves and call it what it is. they had shit we wanted. we took it. end of story.

Here are links to the two best alternative views of the Libya deal I have run across. If you truly understand how this shit works, they make a lot of sense.

Libya: It’s Not About Oil, It’s About Currency and Loans

Libya all about oil, or central banking?

great links. thankyou!!!

i like it when these topics take turns like this. that info may in fact turn out to not be credible at all, and i may be just a paranoid anti-establishment goon.....but i'd much rather we intelligently disect and discuss these matters on a forum like this than simply all wave flags and rejoice in our blind patriotism.

civil communication is one of the things that makes forums like these so powerful and possibly useful. far more read than post. and i hope that all of us end up smarter at the end of the day for the ideas/concepts/info that is passed back and forth.

i know thats a lot to ask. most are pretty stuck in their ways. but still cling to hope that in some way, forum boards and blogs are making a more informed and intelligent population. probably not. but i hope so.

Libya blackmailed Europe with illegal immigrants (Italy is just across Libya) Lockerbie Bombing etc
this was the right opportunity, if there was no revolution nothing happend, Europe took advantage of this

their's plenty of blackmail/oppression/killing going on all over africa. why should this be different?

its the oil and/or central banking as linked to above.

if we really care about "terrorism" in africa........we outta put an end to the diamond trade and other precious metals that are taken from that continent. that whole place is being raped.

libya had nothing to do with noble causes.

again, lets just call it what it was and accept who and what we are as a result. it aint pretty, but its honest.

This pretty much sums it up:

"One definition of “Empire” (per my book The Secret History of the American Empire) states that an empire is a nation that dominates other nations by imposing its own currency on the lands under its control. The empire maintains a large standing military that is ready to protect the currency and the entire economic system that depends on it through extreme violence, if necessary. The ancient Romans did this. So did the Spanish and the British during their days of empire-building. Now, the US or, more to the point, the corporatocracy, is doing it and is determined to punish any individual who tries to stop them. Qaddafi is but the latest example."

But it's not about the oil.

It's about who controls the currency that pays for the oil.
