Both of them lost best friends in the last week so lets everybody post pics or cools stories about our best friends . I think you should both get new pups asap even through they can never be replaced it helps fill the void.

Here is my former buddy that we got as a pup when my wife and I first started dating. Unfortunately he had complications from ACL surgery a year and a half ago and died 6 months after. [/img] [/img]

Here is the girl my brother got for me a couple weeks after we lost him.[/img][/img]

^^^ The reason I will never own a dog again. My German Shepherd, Glenda the Good Bitch, was the best dog ever, trained, amazing. Rescued her from Glen Helen raceway, she was police trained, I think they dumped her there cause she was pregnant (all her puppies drowned, we had bad rains at Glen Helen that year). I had Glenda for 4-5 years ? she died of cancer, worst day of my life, I held her as they put her down, I will never own a dog again, it was like losing my own kid ! Your dogs are beautiful !

Thanks. Yeah, that is the sad part of dog stories is they always end the same way. I probably wouldn't have gotten a new dog myself at least not anytime soon, but my bro insisted, found her and next thing I knew we were at the airport picking her up. We are looking to get a puppy here soon. Something like this guy.

Kawrider9 (Robbie) lost his dog today, too.

My first ever dog of my own had to go live with my folks when I took an apartment that didn't allow them, and he ran away so I never had to deal with his passing.

My next dog, that my wife got for protection when I was on the road all the time, died of cancer a little over a year ago and I still miss him.

Before he went, we got a new puppy from CraigsList.

I made the mistake of letting her hang out on the couch with me when she was small

Now it's a problem

Got this guy from a pet shop (so much for the theory never to do that). Best dog I've ever had in my life, by light years. He's been backpacking with me (he'd herd our group, running back and forth from the lead person to the person at the end...probably would run 50 miles for every 7 miles we'd hike), skiing with me, riding mountain bikes (could easily keep up...clocked him at 35 with my quad), and the most lovable, friendly dog ever. My son has grown up with him. He's 13 now, and I'm getting very scared.

Thanks for the shout out Geezer.

I had to have my Lab put down this morning. She died in my arms at 10:30 this morning. I gave her a kiss and told her that I loved her as she took her final breath. Best dog I've ever had. We had 14 great years together. RIP Simba Lou.

Shit Robbie...so sorry to hear this.

Nice thing about getting a puppy soon is you are so busy with housebreaking, keeping them from chewing up shoes and everything else that you dont have as much time to feel bad.

The cat still sleeps on top of the cage and the birds don't mind at all , they will even play with the cats tail. The birds got out once when I was cleaning the cage and the cat just walked right on by them, I guess he doesn't know that cats and birds arn't suppose to mix.
