Ryan Dungey
It was good, I got a good start, got the holeshot and I just wanted to put some good laps in, but Antonio put some pressure on, but I could maintain it and come away with the win. I think as the race unfolded I played a cat and mouse game, he would close and I would get away, it was a good race. I think the lappers played a little for both of us, sometimes I would get up and then he would get slowed up by them. It’s good to get a good qualification, but the real racing starts tomorrow.
Ryan Villopoto
I was late off the gate, but I got the holeshot anyway. The track had deteriorated a little, some sharp stones in some places. Blake and Ryan had already won and I just needed to qualify. Obviously the MX3 class isn’t the fastest guys, and I knew that the MX1 class had the fastest riders, but tomorrow it might be different.
Blake Baggett
I wasn’t surprised I won, I have raced those guys and I knew what to expect. and I got the best start of my life and I am not usually good at starts. These guys (Dungey and Villopoto) have done it before and Dungey gave me some pointers about line choices and Roger has been helping me with the schedule and stuff. There is a lot more people than I expected and they are crazy on the side of the track and the track is amazing, I didn’t expect it to be this good, it’s a really good track.
Roger De Coster
The two Ryan’s have a lot of experience and you can expect them to be on top, but I was also impressed with Cairoli, he has some good spots where he was really fast, but Blake rode well and it’s hard racing outside America and he did it well. Of course the French team we expected competition from them, the Italians did well, but I was impressed with Guarneri. It’s only qualification, so there is a lot of work tomorrow.
