Anyone remember Andytown MX? It was out on the edge of the Everglades on US-27.
I watched my first mx race there in 1973. It was the only time I went there but I never forgot it.
It was some sort of nationals race because I remember seeing Tim Hart and Gary Jones racing that day.
How many years was this track in operation?

Here's an old video someone posted on youtube.... "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdpChSlO-90"

And here's a google maps view of the location..... "http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?ie=UTF8&hl=en&ll=26.082177,-80.43572&spn…"

You can still see the outlines of some of the corners and the starting gate after all this time.

If I remember correctly, Andytown was just a couple of miles north of Holiday Park on the west side of US 27. I raced there once around 82 or 83 and watched a race or two there in the 70's.

John u are correct on the location of the track. The track bascialy ran around a man made lake that was dredged for road fill. The track was rocky limestone fill. There was also airboat races there because it was at the edge of the everglades. They did hold a big race there once not sure if it was a national. I saw a guy throw it away while riding an old Ossa. The bike ended up in the lake. The track was closed for years then reopened I think in the early 80's by Pete Scalzo who ran a few races there.
