O.K., I searched for any kind of info on Weston. He looked great in his heat, had awesome lap times, but then a DNS in the main. Anyone got the scoop. Is his foot still bothering him? Man, I hope he didn't come back too soon. Can't wait to see what he does outdoors.

Someone feed me the 411 please.

Hoping Weston is okay and ready for next week.

On another note, did anyone else catch the bit about the new Harley? Kinda wonder what Yamaha thinks of that being broadcast.

Thanks. That would explain the DNS then, if they don't cross the finish line for lap one, then I don't think they're listed on the results sheets and thus given a DNS. Huge bummer for him. It doesn't look like the time off has hurt his speed any. Can't wait to see what he can do at Daytona.

On the broadcast you could just see the bike flipping as they went into the first turn. Would be nice to get some updates. Kind of concerning if Weston didn't rejoin the race. Hopefully just the bike was too mangled.

Matthes tweeted that he was limping when he got up, so he was at least good enough to get up and walk around. Bike was probably wadded up.

Jbone tweeted that Weston tweaked his knee a little, but should be good to go for next week.

I think he came in a little hot and caught Dungey's rear wheel.

Spoke to Weston and Loudog after the event. Weston's foot is fine and he had just finished icing his knee. BTW Weston LOVES his JGR motor package and said it is extremely tractable. He like Roczen rides in the meat of the powerband.

From where I was sitting it looked like he was limping but walked off the track on his own. Weston is a tank, he'll be back.

To bad he clipped Dungey and went down, with the speed he had in qualifying, very good chance he ends up on the Box and even a chance to push Dungey for the win.

Hopefully next weekend.

hes an animal. and to think he only started racing when he was 16. hes running the speed of guys that had pro contracts at 16. thats why it made me laugh the past couple years when everyone was like " hes got ok speed, but not top 5" . hes still finding his speed, and apparently is wasnt hidden very well.

He did not clip dungey, he snagged a tuff block with his foot which started the high side and then clipped Andrew short which finished it off unfortunately.

Look at the photo GuyB posted.

Clearly you can see Westons front wheel off of the ground, from hitting Dungeys rear wheel.

I was just trying to shed some light on it as I know Weston. He didn't hit Dungey at all. Caught the rocky mtn ATV tuff block with his left foot which got him squirrely and started to high side and then clipped Andrew short. You can watch it on TV coverage also.

I hated to see him have that bad luck because he was looking good in his heat. I cant wait until the out doors starts up because I think Weston can be a contender out doors. He can handle that JGR horse power and he looks like he works good with the Yamaha.

I didn't know he started riding so late. Now I realize why people are so crazy about him. I hope he can be like John Dowd and race competitively for years to come. Just another awesome reason to be a fan of his.

Was bummed to see him go down. For a second there it looked like Weston and Dunge were gonna start where they left off earlier in the season. Coulda been a hell of a battle again. Go get em in Atlanta Weston!

Unless you're blind that picture says you're wrong. He probably clipped Dungey which sent him off course (as you can see in the pic) and then hit the tuff block after that.

I'm not going to argue. I asked him what happened as I thought he hit Dungey originally too. He said he cut to far inside and hit the tuff block with his left leg setting up for the corner. He said he missed dungey but caught Shorts rear wheel. Last time I will explain it Wink .

Please tell me how you can say the above pictures don't say he tapped Dungey's rear wheel. I know what Weston said but pictures don't lie unless GuyB is taking photos from some sort of alternate dimension.

The photos are one thing, but I'd also go back and peek at the 450 highlights video on the homepage. There's an interesting overhead shot of the start straight.

Let's not make the photos the Zapruder film. Wink

Just go watch the TV coverage. He's half a bike length back from Dungey when he catches the tuff block. He gets a little closer but not near close enough to hit him.

He got pile driven into the ground so hard, no doubt a lesser human would have broken their neck...
