SupaSupaCross 1

Ever wonder what happened to some of the old game developers after Rainbow Studios got dismantled last year? So did we. We got a whiff of a hint that there might be more motocross games in the future when we ran into one of them at the Phoenix Supercross. Then we got the the release below for a new arcade-style game for iPhone, iPad, and Android called SupaSupacross.

If you're looking for something that's hyper-realistic, this ain't it. But it is a fun moto-inspired diversion. Especially if you're tired of smashing green ham with slingshot-launched fowl.

A couple hints after playing it a bit? If you're using the touch controls, don't be heavy-thumbed. little taps work well for steering. The wheelbase of the bike is really short, and it's pretty easy to end up doing donuts or heading in the wrong direction. Also, if you've driven RC cars, you know that the controls are reversed when it's heading toward you. Anyway, you'll figure it out.

Check the screen shots below, as well as their press release. Oh, and the cost? A mere 99 cents...at least on iTunes.

SupaSupa Games, LLC, a group of Phoenix-based developers, is gearing up to enter the mobile market with its release of SupaSupaCross, an arcade style super cross game.

“Working on the MX vs. ATV brand and interacting with the motocross community has been a blast, and we aren’t ready for that experience to end,” says Allen Sanderlin, founder of SupaSupa Games. “With the closing of THQ Digital Studios Phoenix, formerly Rainbow Studios, there is a lot of experienced talent here that is still excited about delivering quality racing titles.”
