Season finale to determine 450 class champion at Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (August 20, 2014) — The biggest event of the year at Miller Motorsports Park, the second annual Zions Bank Utah National and the season finale for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series, will take place Saturday, Aug. 23 in the only opportunity to see the world’s best motocross talent in Utah this year.
The nationally televised event will feature motocross stars Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, Trey Canard, James Stewart and Chad Reed. The headlining 450cc class championship is still in contention, and the title will be decided between KTM teammates Dungey and Roczen on the series’ most unique track, located in the infield of the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park facility. Roczen has a 20-point advantage on his teammate heading into the final round.
In the 250cc class, Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin clinched the title last weekend in Indiana, but there is a very tight race for second place among Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett, Yamaha’s Cooper Webb and KTM’s Marvin Musquin, all of whom are within seven points of each other.
Practice sessions will get underway at 8:30 a.m., with consolation races at 11:35 a.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 12:25 p.m., followed by the first 450 moto at 1:05 p.m., the first 250 moto at 2:05 pm, the second 450 moto at 3:15 p.m. and the second 250 moto at 4:15 p.m.

This year’s event will feature a revised 1.2-mile track, with better race flow, more passing opportunities and shorter lap times. In addition, the infield portion of the track has been opened to spectators for the first time, allowing more up-close-and-personal viewing of these incredible athletes.
Also taking place on Saturday will be the Ultra4 American Rock Sports Challenge, a unique off-road race that takes place on both the Off-Road Short Course and the Rock-Crawling Course. Admission is included with the price of Zions Bank Utah National tickets.
