Round 3 – Anaheim, CA – Angel Stadium – January 19th, 2008
ANAHEIM, CA (January 21, 2008) – Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed took his second win of the 2008 Supercross season, in front of a sold out crowd of 45,050, at an event promoters dubbed “throwback night” which paid homage to the Supercross champs of the 1980’s.
After opening ceremonies Reed went into serious race mode. Reed set the fastest qualifying lap and took third in his heat race for a direct transfer into the main. In the main event, he took the early lead in lap 1 and never looked back, dominating all 20 laps and securing the win. Reed captured his second win of the season, both at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, and leads the Championship standings with 72 points.
“I said that I wanted to win races this year,” beamed Reed. “That’s the only plan we’re following, to win every week.”
Meanwhile, Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Nate Ramsey posted his second Top 10 finish. After having problems in his heat race, Nate finished second in the LCQ to earn his spot in the Main event. He then worked his way through the pack in the Supercross main and finished a well earned seventh, giving Team San Manuel Yamaha two riders in the top 10.
