Renegade Racing Fuels fueled GEICO Powersports/Factory Connection, Star Yamaha, Honda of Troy, and Suzuki City to some solid results in Indy. Kevin Windham had a capacity crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night on the edge of the seat by leading 11 laps of the main event before eventually taking third place. Supercross Lites rookie Justin Barcia had a outstanding debut on his own GEICO Powersports Honda. Running in the fourth position, Barcia held that spot for the last 11 laps until finally passing Ryan Sipes in the second-to-last turn to steal away a third-place finish in the Lites main. Metcalfe ran well all day in his Lites East debut and finished fifth overall in the main event. He had a strange landing in qualifying and aggravated a pre-existing ankle injury that hampered him a bit in the main. Riding on a 450 for the first time in Supercross competition, Canard encountered problems with his bike and failed to finish the main event.
Star Yamaha #341 Nico Izzi and #577 Martin Davalos started out fairly well, as Izzi clocked in at 6th and the determined Davalos set the 9th fastest Timed - Qualifying lap. In the main, both Nico and Martin rode a consistent pace, hanging around the 8th to 9th position. When the fifteen laps were up, Izzi secured 8th and his teammate Davalos took a frustrating 9th for his tally. Look for both of these riders to improve this weekend.
The Honda of Troy team was looking to make a stand at the first round of the East Coast Supercross. Levi Kilbarger #412 laid down solid lap times for Honda of Troy throughout the qualifiers and heat races. He fought through a mid pack start and battled all moto long progressing to a 13th place finish. Michael Willard #92 put in impressive lap times during each session and found himself the fastest qualifier in the unseeded practice sessions. Willard did have the start he was looking for and eventually earned himself a 16th place overall finish. Darryn Durham #36 looked smooth all day in qualifying, entering the night program with a top 10 time. During the first heat race he was claimed in a first turn pile up and was forced to fight his way through the pack. At the end of the short 6 laps, he found himself in 10th place - one spot out of the night program - which placed him into the dreaded last chance qualifier. With only two transfer spots open in the LCQ, Darryn's Eleven 10 Mods motor powered by Renegade Fuels got him out the gate quickly into a fourth place start but resulted in a 3rd place finish, knocking him out of the Main Event. Sean Lipanovich #505 came out strong during the day by dialing in the track and with Indianapolis being his professional racing debut, he obtained consistently competitive lap times but in a stacked field of East Coast Lites riders, Sean found himself two spots out of qualifying for the night program. The Honda of Troy team will regroup and look for them to be a serious threat to the top riders.
Suzuki City riders Steven Clarke and Matt Lemoine, who will look to show they have what it takes to run up front this weekend in Atlanta and contest the East Coast Supercross Lites championship. Renegade fuels would like to congratulate each of these riders and teams for their hard work and results. Renegade Fuels will look to contest the podium again this weekend at the second round of the East Coast Supercross. Renegade Racing Fuels-the choice for fuels for champions!
