LACAPELLE
MARIVAL (France), 6th August 2011 - The FIM Women’s World
Championship headed to the last round of series in Lacapelle Marival.
With the outstanding crowd already joining us here on this humid
Saturday. It was most certainly Steffanie Liaer who lead from start
to finish in their last qualifying race of the championship.
It’s
the first time that the WMX class has competed on this fast track of
Lacapelle Marival. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Laier was the
first woman to get a holeshot here in her last qualifying race. Not
so far behind her was the Italian Chiara Fontanesi who stayed hot on
her heals the whole course. Larissa Papenmeier once again was in a
smooth and consistant third position. Originally be followed by the
Irish lady Natalie Kane, having her first race back after injuries,
she came from 12th upto fourth but loosing her silencer had a
consequence of 1min. Going onto the gate in 13th position. The
official fourth place went to the only 125 rider in the top ten,
Nicky Van Wordragen. Having a few girls wanting to try a new
experience in the FIM Women’s World Championship, we had the
Japenese Kaori Nishiyama racing this weekend and the New Zealand Emma
Davis along with Joel Doeksen who competed already the whole season
in the MX3 World Championship.
Who will be crowned the 2011
FIM Women´s World Champion tomorrow on this famous circuit of
history in Lacapelle Marival. Chiara Fontanesi will be doing all that
she can to fight for her first title of her promising
career.

Steffi
Laier “I was not happy because I was pushing expecting she would
follow me but Chiara didn’t want to battle with me. She stayed more
slower so then I slowed down. We will see tomorrow! “
Larissa
Papenmeier “I had a pretty good start, I was third behind Chaira
and Steffi. But then I broke again my back brake so we will see how
it is tomorrow.”
Chiara Fontanesi “My race was ok, I
thought I was good to take the same speed as Steffi. I was behind her
for three laps. But I prefer to be quiet today and to do my best
tomorrow.”
