KTM Junior Riders Earn 3 Titles FIM Junior MX World Championship

DARDON-GUEUGNON,
France (August 22, 2010) – KTM proved to be the brand to beat
winning all three classes (65cc, 85cc and 125cc) at the
Dardon-Gueugnon circuit in France as riders all over the world came
out to race in the FIM Junior MX World Championship.

Despite
the threat of thunderstorms and terrible winds over 5,000 spectators
came out to watch talented riders from 34 different nations race the
FIM Junior MX World Championship.

Three
KTM riders topped the podium at the end of the weekend with American
rider Jake Pinhancos taking the win in the 65cc class, Germany’s
Henry Jacobi winning the 85cc class and French rider Jordi Tixier
walking away with the 125cc victory. Furthermore, both the 65cc and
85cc classes had all three podium finishers aboard KTM motorcycles
while KTM riders secured the championship and the 3rd
place spot in the 125cc class.

Pinhancos
earned an easy victory over the competition winning both 65cc motos
with a commanding lead on his KTM machine. The hard-pack track was
not what the young rider was accustomed to but he quickly adapted to
the course and took home a championship for Team USA. Not only did a
KTM rider take the win in the 65cc class, but all top 10 riders were
racing aboard KTM motorcycles!

German
rider Henry Jacobi put two solid finishes together to win the 85cc
crown. Jacobi was able to take a well-deserved win in the first moto.
He suffered a poor start in the second moto and was able to charge
his KTM up to 3rd
place by the checkered flag. His 1-3 finishes put him 2 points ahead
of the Slovenian Tim Gajser, winner of the second moto, to earn the
overall title.

KTM
rider Tixier, the current European 125 Champion, was able to add
another notch to his belt after winning both 125cc motos and earning
the 125cc Junior MX Championship Title. “The first race was the
biggest challenge as I had extreme pressure from my competition. I
was able to find better lines in the second race and managed to take
the win and the championship,” remarked Tixier.
