Press Release

Jeremy Van Horebeek scores first moto podium of the season.

CLS Kawasaki racer,
Jeremy Van
Horebeek, scored his first moto podium finish of the season with a
brilliant second place in the first race of the German MX GP held in
Teutschenthal over the weekend.

‘The Jerre’ has shown
in previous GP’s that he has the raw speed and talent to run with the
best in the world and it was in Moto 1 that the Belgian youngster proved
his point.  After grabbing a good start, Van Horebeek was in third
spot behind the KTM duo of Marvin Musquin and Jeffrey Herlings.  Van
Horebeek made his move on Herlings and then went in search of the
reigning
world champ, Musquin.   Local favourite, Ken Roczen,  joined
the hunt for Musquin but Van Horebeek kept the German at bay until he
dropped off the pace with a goggle problem.   At the flag, Van
Horebeek was only 4 secs adrift of the Frenchman and was excited to
claim
second spot.

At the start of the second moto
‘The Jerre’ was left with a little more work to do in the
opening laps as he was boxed in at the start.  Moving swiftly through
the pack he was charging forward when a mistake saw the number 89
Kawasaki
hit the dirt.  Losing valuable positions, he quickly remounted outside
the top 20 and put in a gutsy come back ride that impressed the
enthusiastic crowd.  Bt the end of the 35 min + 2 lap race Van
Horebeek had clawed his way into 7th narrowly missing out on
the
overall podium by two points to American, Zach Osborne.

“The first race  I was
happy, finally I got my first top three finish of the season in race one
after coming so close in each of the last few GPs. I made a great start
and
could keep the same pace as Musquin in the lead to get this second place
and confirm that we are working in the right direction. Unfortunately I
did
a wheelie off the starting in the second race, but I had a good first
lap
to come round eighth. I’m not sure what happened but I had a big
crash on the fourth lap which put me down to 19th position
but I
wasn’t hurt and was able to recover to seventh at the finish.
That’s quite an achievement on this rough track, but it wasn’t
quite enough to get me on the podium.” explained Van
Horebeek.

He now heads to Kegums in Latvia
for round 9 of the FIM MX2 World championship next weekend.
