FMF Indoor Motocross Opens Big

Blountville, TN – The 22nd annual FMF Indoor Winter Series opened at the WNC Ag Center in Fletcher, NC opened with a full house. Over 950 riders were on hand for the event, making all the classes full, providing a great event for the packed house of spectators. The Youth riders were out in full force to get the series started. The 50cc Beginner, 50cc Shaft, 50cc 7-8yrs, & 65cc Beginner classes all had to run qualifiers to narrow the field down to the 15 rider gate. Several riders took their first ever win in motocross this weekend giving them an experience that they will never forget.

The pro classes were some of the biggest with 28 riders in both the 250 & 450 pro classes Friday night. Many good riders ended up in the seats watching the main events. With the added pro riders the purse was bumped up to $10,600.00 for the weekend.

Jacob Hayes and Robbie Horton emerged the big winners in the pro classes. Hayes (Kaw) won the 250 pro classes both nights but couldn’t get a start in the 450 class. Horton won the 450 class both nights and put in strong finishes in the 250 class. Kyle Bitterman (Hon) won a couple of heat races and was set to take a win, but Hayes and Horton changed his plans. Several riders made the trip down from the northeast with New Jersey’s Nick Desiderio (Hon) taking home the most cash of the bunch as he claimed three 3rd  place finishes and one 14th place.
