Dubach to Race 2-Stroke Challenge
Norco, CA. (May 20, 2009) – The opening round of the AMA National Motocross Championship kicks off at Glen Helen and while the 450F/ 250F is the main attraction, the 2-Stroke Challenge is setting up to be an epic battle. Doug Dubach, ironically the Yamaha test rider who helped launch the birth of modern four-strokes, will return to his 2-stroke roots at Glen Helen.
Riding his Alan Olson-prepped #15 Yamaha YZ250, Dubach looks to regain the form that put him atop the podium at his first Supercross Main Event win. Though moderately older, with graying hair, chained down with several kids and a growing exhaust business (DRD), Dubach is excited to return to the AMA Nationals and race in front of 25,000 + fans.
“I’m really looking forward to this event, it’s a great idea by the promoters and I jumped at the chance when invited,” said 45-year old Doug Dubach. “Alan Olson will be my mechanic, and after winning a championship with Chad Reed, he has the experience to motivate me and keep my bike perfect. Plus, his hair is greyer than mine so Ill look good standing next to him!”
