San Bernardino, CA - The great outdoors started out with a whiz-bang for the DNA Energy Drink/BTO Sports.com/BBMX team as the team was enthused about the new era of American motocross happening right before their eyes. In front of, well we’re not sure but it looked like a crapload, people team riders Jason “Solar Radar” Thomas, Kyle “St Pete for life” Keylon and Ben “mush, mush” Lamay all battled hard, sweated out blood and tears and gave it their all on their mighty CRF450’s. Unfortunately, Lamay didn’t make the motos but we still love him anyways and expect to see him in their soon. In Ben's defense, a rock to his motor cases in the 1st timed practice and a seized motor in the 2nd practice left the kid just about helpless with qualifying.
Solar Radar Thomas suffered horrible starts as did Keylon but the two warriors tried their best in the whole race. They scored somewhere between 20th and 40th but we’re not concerned with position as long as the guys try really, really hard. Top ten would be nice however. The guys didn’t score any points but both riders admit that they aren’t going to exchange any x-mas cards with Glen Helen anytime soon. It can only get better as we go to the famous Hangtown facility in Sacramento this weekend. Too bad they don't still have a national at Gatorback in FL! If they did, just out of curiosity, we wonder if just about 75% of the riders in the main event would be from FL?
