Press Release

Crucial Round for the German Riders at Teutschenthal

FUNCHAL
(PORTUGAL)
, 16 June 2010 – The FIM Women’s World Championship moves
to Teutschenthal,
Germany, to celebrate the fifth round of the championship with only
two
more events to go, Loket and Fermo. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s
Stephanie
Laier arrives to her home round willing to widen the distance
between her
pursuers having in mind the end of the series, but knowing her
compatriots
Larissa Papenmeier and Maria Franke will not leave things easy as
they are
also riding at home.

Since the FIM WMX Series started back in the 2008, the current World
Champion Stephanie Laier has gone out with the victory in the German
track.
However, Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2’s Larissa Papenmeier won the
Women’s
World Cup celebrated in Teutschenthal in 2007 while last year she
was the
fastest rider on Saturday’s time practice and finished second
overall. So
it is going to be a good opportunity for her to get some valuable
points to
close up the gap with the championship leader and enter the top
three.

Diga KTM’s Maria Franke, third in the championship 51 points behind
Laier,
has also the opportunity to win the second position to Livia
Lancelot, who
is at the moment only 9 points ahead of the German rider and got an
average
sixth place in the French round last weekend.

The Italian Chiara Fontanesi, who finished second in Saint Jean
d’Angely,
arrives with a raised self-esteem in the German track and knows she
will
have to do a good performance this weekend if she wants to keep her
fourth
position in the standings as she has the same points as the home
rider,
Larissa Papenmeier.
