March 21, 2011 - Corona, CA AMA Supercross - Jacksonville, FL It was a rough night in Jacksonville, FL for Cole Seely, only his second race aboard the American Honda CRF450R. After qualifying 15th in practice, Cole lined up for Heat 2 with confidence. When the gate dropped, he tangled with another rider off the start but rounded the first lap inside the top ten. Cole put his head down and charged his way forward, finishing the 8 lap race in 6th position behind the No. 18 of Milsaps. In the Main Event, cole started about mid-pack and avoided much of the carnage that ensued on the first lap. When things sorted themselves out, Cole found himself in 11th position. A few laps later Cole passed Austin Stroupe for 7th. But on the following lap, Stroupe got together with Seely after the triple jump, which caused some of his controls to bend and move. Cole had to pull off into the mechanics area to get his controls fixed before returning to the track 2 laps down. He would go on to finish 15th. "Not exactly the result I had hoped for," said Cole. "I had another top-ten finish going, and I was feeling pretty good about that [until the contact]. But I'll be ready for next week in Toronto."
