Bel-Ray Racers Searle and Lupino Score Top 5 Results in Thailand

This weekend’s event was a test of man and machine as high temperatures and humidity combined to challenge all the racers. Alessandro Lupino proved his strength and endurance by coming through the field in both of his races to score fifth place overall for the day. This result pushed Lupino into eighth place in the points standings. Lupino spoke about the event following the day's racing. “My start in the MX2 race was not very good (and) this is something I need to work on, but I was able to fight back from twentieth to eighth. I pushed hard in the last ten minutes and did the same in the Superfinal, where I came back from thirteenth to fourth. It’s my best ever result and I feel I’m improving a lot every week since I joined Kawasaki.”

Tommy Searle continued his rookie MX1 season with another strong ride for a fourth place overall finish. The 2012 MX2 class runner-up had to overcome a poor gate choice due to a difficult qualification race to achieve a fifth place finish in the first heat. He backed up that result with another top five finish in the Superfinal. “It was an improvement with a fifth and a fourth place, and that is what we are all working for,” said Searle after the Superfinal finish. “I wanted to be in the top five and that’s what I did this weekend, so I’m happy, as it’s only my second race on a 450.” Searle is currently in fifth place in the series standings.
