I remember seeing a thread/reply earlier this season saying if Jett won this championship he would be the first I win four consecutive titles in a row. I know it's not the premier class but still it's impressive if he is the first to string four in a row.
The precious legends went 3 and out starting their pro career at 16. Enough. Jett has the ability to be an all timer but nothing he did in the 250 class this year is impressive relative to his ability
Soon we get to see what we have been waiting for, just wish Tomac was there.
"The precious legends went 3 and out starting their pro career at 16."
In terms of age, it's not much different than some of the greats. He's moving up at 19 and still has plenty of time to become an HOFer.
Age When They Moved Up
Rick Johnson 16
Bob Hannah 19
James Stewart 19
Ricky Carmichael 19/20
Chad Reed 20
Ryan Villopoto 20
Ryan Dungey 20
Eli Tomac 21
Jeremy McGrath 21/22
Jett just won his 4th title. He is 19 and 9month
James 18 and 9 months
Ricky 19 and 9 months? Not sure when he clinched. (End of august) Final round was 1st weekend of September his bday is end of November.
Villopoto 20 and 1 month
Jett may have raced 7 250 series and not 6. But he is younger then RV and same age as rc to win 4 titles. What is more important and or years in the class. It's basically irrelevant.
Look at tomac he raced more the 3 years, was about 21 l and he was getting to all time level.
No 1 sits here saying ohh RV was cherry picking 250 titles when he was 20.
Rc and RV started their pro careers at 17.
Eli at 18.
James 2 weeks after is 16th bday
Jett 3 days after his 16th bday.
The Shop
Not bad for someone that has started training supercross late in 2019. Sexton vs Jett will be the new era, maybe Hunter will mix it up aswell when he moves up, but I don't think he will match these two outdoors.
Is he the first to do four in a row though? Obviously this becomes atleast twice as hard once they are in the premier class but it I am still intrigued to now if this is a worlds first.
World 1st? It would be an ama stat.
I think he is the only 250/125 rider to win 4 in a row. Rc stew and RV never did.
Rc won 7 450/250 titles in a row.
Missed an sx series then won 5 more in a row.
So he pretty much did 12 in a row coz he never raced in the 2004 sx.
That. First 125/250/lites whatever they called it in a certain generation to win 4 titles in a row. They kept hyping him up about joining the 4 title club last night, but oddly never mentioned that his were consecutive for the first time ever.
