Just trying to save some money here. Full retail price for this stuff is just too much to swallow. Looking for slightly used stuff, or a competitive price for new stuff.
Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks, Tim Sharp

They are steep prices. But you hear nothing but good about them and plus I really like springs in my forks. I'm not sure what Showa A kit costs but I would think it's more and you don't get springs. Sorry to hijack the post

Looks like I'm going to just pay retail for the forks and have the shock revalved. Several people, including the people selling this stuff, say that the forks are worth the money but the stock shock can be made almost as good as the Trax shock.
I basically ordered a set of forks from WP North America. They are only 35 minutes from my house.
I just don't have the patience to wait for a used set to pop up. Although, I do have to wait 5-6 weeks, so if anyone wants to sell me a set of forks and a shock, that would be great.
Thanks, Tim Sharp

You will be happy with the cone valves. The price sucks, but best fork I've ridden on a KTM.

I had cone valves and the Trax shock on my '14.4 FE 450. Sold the suspension and bike and bought the '15.5 FE450. I bought a new set of cone valves, but the shock wasn't available for awhile... I rode with my stock shock and never even had it valved. The shock will be just fine with a revalve and correct spring, you will love the forks if you get them set up correctly. Billy @ Powerband has really great settings, plenty of us have used him. Hopefully you get what you pay for, the standard WP valving is a little harsh, IMO.

Thanks for the heads up.
I can't say that I have any major complaints with the rear shock. I'm at 108mm of sag and the rear of the bike feels a little stink bug still. I'm going to try 110mm next time I go out. Billy at Powerband said to try as much as 112mm.
So, plenty of things to try on the shock to make it feel acceptable.
Thanks for the input guys.

Not to change the subject on your thread, but it's interesting what you say about sag. What year is your bike? Mine is 15.5 and if I go over 106mm on sag I feel like the bike doesn't turn. I run the forks at 1 or 2 lines. I made a mistake once and my sag was 110ish and felt like nothing worked. But it's different for everyone ya know.

I have the 2016 450 SX-F Factory Edition.
They recommend 108mm-112mm.
I know on most of my other Japanese bikes I have always ran around 100mm.
I have the forks up 8mm. The air pressure is at 10.5 bar. The bike seems to work pretty good. On really rough tracks the front end just never feels planted. The rear shock just has a vague feel. It seems to track ok, but I'm getting inconsistent braking bump absorption. I think I'm going to try speeding up the rebound a couple clicks next time I ride.
You are so correct, everybody is different.
