I have just purchased my first 2 stroke a KTM sx125 2012 or so it would seem, I have no frame of reference for the nuances between a 125 and a 150 but a number of buddy’s of mine have road it and said it feels like it has the power of a 150.

Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between the 2 is there any visual difference? It’s currently on a 48/13 gear ratio (which I know is the stock ratio on a 150) but the sprocket isn't stock so may have been changed.

Any help will be much appreciated to help solve his mystery

Thanks

it's normally stamped on the engine...124cm cubed is a 125
might be different on KTMs to the jap bikes. I'd put your frame number into a KTM microfiche such as the one on fowlers website. Assuming it wasn't retro fitted with the 150 cylinder....

The only visual difference from the outside is that it should say it on the cylinder.

Check these two numbers on the CDI under the Seat 125 and 150 have different Part Numbers
They are from KTM Spare Parts Kataloge
