Clutch Issues again :(

Edited Date/Time 2/28/2014 10:35pm
I've been trying to finalize my clutch because when I bought it, it was so jumpy and twitchy. I lubed the cable and adjusted it but no matter what I do the clutch doesn't begin to engage until I almost release the lever. For example:
I start it up, pull in the clutch, shift to first, and then slowly let out the clutch while giving it gas. What happens is the bike doesn't start moving at all and then at the last second when the clutch is almost all the way out it bites. As a beginner it's hard for me because the bike just gains power and shoots right up. Is the problem the lever/adjusters or something wrong with the clutch plates? I can't adjust the clutch any tighter, both the lever adjusters and the ones on the engine are both all the way as tight was they can go. Thanks guys!

What bike?
Have you looked at the clutch basket and hub for notches?

Need to tear it down and rebuild with fresh basket, hub, bearings, push rod, etc depending on what's worn out.

Check the adjuster on the clutch perch. If it's grabbing at the very end you can losen the adjuster and it should grab closer to the handlebar.
