I'm planning to get a new 2012 or 2013 CRF250r on the 15th or 16th of February...Personally my # means something...It's not just a number. It represents someone who passed away, you know?
I know this might sound stupid, But I Honestly DONT want to ride a bike that belongs to me unless it's got my # on it. Even if I'm not racing. I'll throw electrical tape on if I have to. Currently I ride a Honda CRF150RB. I have One industries backgrounds that have black numbers on white. I always seem to get black marks from my boots on them somehow. (Even though my alpinestars are white) It is suck a pain to sit there for 2 hours with plastic cleaner on the graphics to make the marks disappear. I've never had white #'s on black, so anyone recommend one way over the other? (Note: My local track I race at doesn't have a policy regarding # plate colors...I'm not a big time racer planning to go pro either) Would the black show scratches worse? Also in my 8 years riding/racing I've never used aftermarket shroud graphics, I like the stock Honda graphics. Are there any of you that have stock shroud graphics with backgrounds? What did you use? Here's my bike that I have now. (Believe it or not, I have hundreds of hours on this bike.....I like my stuff looking clean!)

Anyone got pics of what backgrounds you went with? Anyone recommend companies, or definitely not recommend companies?

They are great, and the cheapest around. I just got the cheapo plain backgrounds with numbers, and I believe they were $35 +shipping.

No matter what company or color you use backgrounds take a beating and scratches and boot marks are inevitable.

Black backgrounds will show scuff marks but not quite as noticeably as the white. The numbers themselves will still show scuffs, however.
Take some brake/contact cleaner and spray it into a rag. You can then wipe the scuffs off pretty easily.

Here are my 180 backgrounds after a season of riding, and just pressure washing after each ride. No special treatment.

Thanks for the post. I might go with the black backgrounds with the fancy white border since i think it'd look weird with the white fender and black taking the whole "flowing look" away.
