anyone ever build a pole barn?

hey im curious if anyone has ever built or would have any info on building a pole barn with an apartment on 2nd floor?

I know someone that made a pole barn half house and half shop, calls it a "shome". Turned out nice, but the thing is those poles will rot in the ground. I think the value will depreciate just like an RV or trailer house, not like a real house. I'd also talk to the insurance people first to see what they will insure it for, if they will at all. Had a pole barn burn down, you wouldn't think it would with just wood support and metal walls but it was gone in 15 minutes.
