This is the only time i ever watch baseball, anyone following this? who is favored to win? or any other interesting facts/details about either team that a non following sports guy should know about?

I like the WS because to me its the only time of year the games are really intense and every run counts so much, IMO they just play too damn many games during the reg season for me to follow.

I dont even know who i should root for yet, Whistling

Isnt STL like always in the WS? seems like i have seen them in it a ton of times.

I think STL has played in it 19 times in the past 110 years.
You may remember them winning it in 1982,2006 & 2011.
The 82 team had Darrell Porter,Ozzie Smith & Lonnie Smith,Keith Hernandez,Tommy Herr,Bruce Sutter(beard dude ),Ken Oberkfell

Two great baseball cities with the two teams with best records in their leagues playing for the World Series-----doesn't get much better than that

I grew up in St. Louis and was in high school in 82 - bet your ass I remember that! also when Kansas City (my current location) beat the Cards in 85. ouch.
2011 they won it.
2012 NLCS (win this, you are in World Series) they led 3 games to 1 and choked to San Fran losing 3 in a row.
2013 I'm watching every pitch!

So it's safe to say the past 3 seasons they have been the best - or top 3 - team in the entire MLB.

Yeah,that 82 team is one of my all time favorite teams to ever win a World Series.
There was just something about that team.
I remember when they swept the Braves to go onto the World Series that year.
I never liked Dale Murphy LOL. Smile


Another one of my favorite teams to make it into the World Series was the 1993 Phillies..
Remember that team? They reminded me of like a softball team you see down at your local bar
or tavern. Smile

I would love to be watching it but I'm still she'll shocked from the tigers loss to boston in AlLCS the tigers are the best team in baseball and shoulda won that series in 5 games but if and butts don't get it done they choked again go st Lou I hate boston

Agree! They have a great Triple A team in Memphis. Have watched Wacha and Kelly a couple of times. You could just tell they were on it.
