Yes, the new Heaven and Hell album. I love all things Dio and Sabbath, so needless to say I couldn't wait for this CD. Now that I've had it for a while I can comment - it rocks! It's
not Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, or Dehumanizer, but it's a solid release. It took a few listens to really get it, and the more I listen the more I love it. Highlights:
Atom and Evil - one of the best tracks on the CD. Ominous, evil, plodding riff, powerful Dio vocals. Excellent.
Feat - also excellent.
Bible Black - mellow, heavy, scary, awesome!
Double the Pain - don't like it, weakest track on the CD.
Rock and Roll Angel - the riff/solo at about 3:50 into the song is pure magic heavy metal!
Breaking into Heaven - majestic closer.

These dudes are 60+ (Dio is rumored to be pushing 70!) and they still bring it. Long live these metal legends.

Just listened to a few of the tracks. Sounds good for old guys, but nothing earth-shaking. Dio's something like 67 now:

Obscure Dio lyrics & the usual histrionics, barely any riffing by the guys you really want to hear. Cheap imitation of the real thing.
