After giving the performance of his life on the witness stand, "Sopranos" actor Lillo Brancato beat a murder rap yesterday in the slaying of an off-duty Bronx cop during a desperate hunt for drugs.
The 32-year-old admitted junkie was convicted only of attempted burglary in the shooting death of Officer Daniel Enchautegui on Dec. 10, 2005, and faces 3½ to 15 years behind bars. But he could be a free man very soon if, at his Jan. 9 sentencing, Bronx Supreme Court Justice Martin Marcus counts the three years he has already spent in jail as time served.
