Shit, I'm the coolest mofo here. Seriously!!

Me and my son are sending a couple a day. They say that they are sent to random soldiers. Heck, if it puts a smile on their face, it's worth the 20 seconds it takes me to send it.

I don't use any of the pre-worded messages.

Good idea there huck, i dont have to send a soldier a letter because i live near a army base(ft campbell ,ky)Ive thanked a few personally. Most of the locals around here dont appriciate what them guys have done, all they think about is the bad apples in the us army. This will be the first year most of them will get to spend christmas at home.My nieghbor is a warrant officer pilot(apache,s).

They used to send us letters addressed to "Any Service Member". I ended up having a a young pen pal while I was in the desert. My wife and I went and visited him after I got back. That stuff helps.

We've got three Christmas regulars who won't be here at our house for Christmas this year. Neice and her sister's husband are both in Iraq. First time for her, third or fourth for him. Her cousin who always seemed to end up here at XMas (and my wife always seemed to have a spare present or gift card for him under the tree) is currently in the Phillipines. Instead of letters, I sent them $100.00 or so of jerky from Woody's Smokehouse. Great stuff. All the kids are growing up.......guess I'm getting old.

Good stuff.

I've taken several pairs of goggles down to the local reserve office. They ship over stuff all the time.

A guy ive known for a long time is in the army and has gone over to Iraq twice. This past time myself and a few of my friends sent his whole platoon a care package of jolly ranchers, beef jerky, baby wipes, batteries, and a two of those little remote control helicopters. Taylor ended up videoing them playin with the helicopters and the five of us that sent all the stuff to them got invited to go down to texas and meet em at the air port when they got home. it was a pretty cool experience.
