I have the A1, same thing, just less shoulder protection I think. I like it, but they run a little short if you're tall or have a long torso (I'm 6'3"). I tried on the new Fox one and it has a little more coverage but still felt really comfortable and snug.

A1 and A4 have the same chest plate. The A4 has wrap around kidney protection and a longer, fuller coverage back protector. The older A4 was a CE level one back protector, but now the new A1 and new A4 are CE level one chest and back. They are super lightweight and very well vented so you can't go wrong either way.

This is from Sunday with the A1 setting up a guy on a 450 for a few turns before I was able to get around him. Both shoulders looks about the same.

I really like mine. The only downside I've noticed is the rivet buttons that hold the padding on aren't the best. Keep an eye on them. It doesn't interfere with my atlas brace at all and the shoulder pad brace straps work great.
