What's everyones opinion on the effect of the economy on new talent coming up in the sport? And as a result, what do you think the field will look like in the next 5-10yrs?
I was just thinking back to how many people I knew who (along with a large part of the country) had triple mortgaged, and spent well beyond their means back in 02-07ish trying to make it on the Am level, as well as people who just loved the sport, and got caught up in keeping up with the Joneses.
I haven't been around the amateur scene in a few years, and am interested in hearing opinions from everyone.
