What are the Prerequisites for being the Supercross Champ?

Huh It seems there are the main points. Be in shape, Factory Rider, previous supercross lites champ( at least in the last 15 yrs),focused, luck. What else??? If you do not have any of these prerequisites you may as well not show up? You are just wasting your time??

The main prereq is scoring more points than anyone else in your class.
