North Carolina Off Road GP $5000.00 first place cash!

Buren Hammrick is hosting the 1st annual Cleveland County GP at the fairgrounds in Shelby, NC on the weekend of July 15-16.
This race is going to be a blast, with amateurs on Saturday and Pro's on Sunday. The course will be a mixture of MX, EnduroCross, dirt track, pavement and woods. We might even take a trip through the cattle stalls!
Am's are going to have some cool trophies and Pro's are going to be racing for a $5000.00 first place prize.
He puts on a great race series and this race should be very special and fun.

Wonder if dudes like Josh Summey will come out of the woodwork for this one..

Last I heard about him he was operating large equipment building, I think for DOT stuff like roads and highways (??) I never knew him personally, only through mutual friends. Man it was fun watching him absolutely shred the pro class at Ultra/Mega series races..

Lots of now pro riders put in laps on the ole Cleveland County Fairgrounds; albeit it when they were on 50's or 65's... Zach Osborne, Austin Stroupe, Shane McElrath, Les Smith, pretty sure even Jordon Smith.. Lots of talent has come out of the North Carolina area in recent years

This race sounds hilariously awesome though - exactly what I'd expect a Shelby WORCS race to be haha Smile

I ran the Denver 100 one time ! That and the Florida Mini O's was the only Cross Country's i raced. There was a MX track there as well. I bought Gordon Bowden's 79 YZ250 and raced it there.I was 15 i think

Fun fact: Rod Bush once crashed in the 1st turn of the Denver 100 and broke his wrist. He got up, finished and won. That Denver 100 trophy was one of the only trophies he kept in his office when he was President of KTM NA.
