OK. This seems like a no brainer. But I'm kinda lost.My bike ran fine.I switched handlebars.Thought everything was ok.I'm on the track and see that my bike is dying.I immediately suspect killswitch.I wiggle it and it's fine. But won't kill the engine now. I wiggle it on the bar again(not pushing the button) and it kills the engine. To avoid the engine dieing right before a huge jump I go back to the pits and take the kill button apart.I inspect it and figure the new renthal bars have paint on them and not letting it get proper contact to kill the engine.I scrape all paint off with channel locks and sand paper. I can't get the thing to work now.The bike will run but won't stop.I checked the connection near the tank and it is plugged in.I'm lost.I think it would be a coincidence that I changed bars and the button went bad. What am I overlooking? Do I buy a new killbutton? Or switch the bars back to see if it works?Laughing Thanks.

Did the ground plate fall out of it when you had it apart?

When you disassemble a Honda kill button, the contact plate often falls out and the kill button won't work.

Bryan, there's a plastic piece in side the button that often will fall out when removing the kill button.

These buttons are horrible to remove & replace for the simple reason that they fall into several pieces when loosened on the bars.

The inner plastic piece can also be turned, and not operate properly.

remove, and inspect again.

Honda's, only flaw...(IMO)

Good luck

That part is loose and will fall out as soon as you remove the kill button from the bar.
