This is great, maybe make it a sticky. And let's help a fellow rider, one who inspired us all!

I have responded to a negative comment on there; hope it was appropriate as the editor has to review it before posting.

Maybe this is a job for the Xtreme Home make over crew. The show would get some awesome programing content and the Henry's would get a house at a greatly reduced cost or free. Am I off my rocker on this?

I like the idea, but it didn't look like there was a whole lot of home to make over...just sayin'.

I have sent an email to the casting folks at Extreme Makeover Home Edition including links to the benefit, Doug's Facebook page and a CNN profile done on Doug a few years back, and if interested to reach out to the family if see if there would be mutual interest in moving forward.

In regards to the home I have seen many episodes where the house has been damaged by fire and they just tear it down and start over. This said, I don't think the level of damage would be an issue. I think this would be a great win / win for everyone - the show gets a great story and the Henry's can get a home however I may be wrong.

Also, the show has a Facebook page so maybe if folks comment on their wall about the Henry Family it may help motivate a reach out to the family from the casting department of the show.

No worries. To be perfectly honest, I've never watched the show. But it'd definitely be cool to see them get some help. Smile

I donated. Probably the most I've donated to anyone. The Henry's need it and he's been my favorite rider since I've been involved with the sport. I posted info on my site plus a banner on the right side of the pages linking to that info and I posted these photos of Doug I shot back at the 2005 Southwick national.

More are posted at my info page here:

Also, I have no problem in supplying the original photos to the family.
