I have a chance to buy a "Brand New" 2005 300 MXC. Yes, amazingly the dealer bought out the previous dealer and this bike was there in hiding. Never had gas put in it! So I guess my question is, is this a good bike? Good for trails? I am 52 yrs old, 5'10", 200#, and wanted a two stroke, so I happened by the KTM dealer and he showed me this bike and I really like it and it seems to be a great deal for a new bike. Any hidden flaws against this bike? I always wanted a KTM. I have been riding an 05 Kawasaki 250f, but felt the need to switch to a two stroke. What do you think a good price is before I disclose asking price? Thanks for help!

$4000 would be a steal and $4500 would be a great deal.

Good bike for what your describing. Motor is awesome. $3500 to $4000 tops.

Keep the rear brakes up with fresh fluid and roost! The top end will last twice as long as a jap bike.

I'd say it was worth about 3500 to 3800 left over brand new. 07 xc 300s are going for 5200 around here.

We had part of a flat track mixed into our harescramble a while back, and I ate 450s for lunch!

I had an 05 and it was the best 2 stroke I have ever ridden. It has more bottom end that any 2 stroke made and want it to scream just dial it up. Little tall in the rocks, but you are still young enough for it.
Wealth of info on this bike at KTMTalk.com. Needs a JDjet kit.
