Does anyone remember back between 1970 and1973 Jimmy Ellis riding a twin exhaust Yamaha at Leeds Junction or Lisbon Maine? I do, unless I'm losing my mind.
Isn't Leeds in England and Lisbon in Portugal?
like he said...Maine...
I remember my dad saying when he lived in warsaw ny there was a shop down the road "sun and snow" village (can-am dealer) or something of the sort and he remembers jimmy ellis coming down and the dealer building him his race bike and then testing it at their track across the railroad tracks. Cool story so now when i see any sort of can am from the early to mid 70s I think jimmy ellis. So gnarly. Doesnt pertain to your yamaha story but still lol
A little bit before my time but I did pet the skunk. I suggest jumping on Facebook and join one of the nesc groups there and hit the boys up. Bill Hobbs put up a picture one one of the pages of jimmy on I think a bsa from slightly before then a bit ago. But are you thinking of the guy from Haverhill area who took a maico frame and put a RD350 engine in for the open class a few years later?
