Wp aer 48 air pressure guide/chart. Any links to a guide to set them up to rider weight, manual has one generic setting. For 187 lbs. I though wp might have a chart for different weights. Thanks.

Gotcha. I would just bolt those A kit forks you have on the Honda on that beast and be done with it!

17 SKF450, vet expert rider 205lbs. I started at there 156lb setting from the manual and now I'm down to 145lbs and I like it so much better. Also I raised the forks in the triple clamps and that helped the handling the most. Air forks ride high in the stroke.

Ive got about 20hrs on the AER forks. For me, I'm a desert guy, the stock mid valving would not work, had to set the PSI too high for big whoops and this higher PSI was harsh and horrible in the big rocks, but I felt the stock valving was ok at the track considering it's just another KTM with incorrect valving. Now I've got the mxtech mid valving and absolutely love this fork. I'm 220lbs dry, I now set the forks to 137PSI before I ride and they flat out work great. Just go up or down 3psi until you find your happy spot, but remember you need to set the fork to whatever PSI setting you like every time you ride, because ambient temp dramatically effects air. I see a psi swing between 135-145 between 40 degrees ambient to 70 degrees ambient. To me it's not a big deal and just one more pressure setting to check before you ride, the pump is a bonus actually because I use it on my tires.

And set your forks down to the first line. I also still like 105 of sag on this bike, yet I know some guys like a 110.

Iv found running mine alot lower than it specifies in the manual is alot better. I run 135 but thinking of going lower yet min is 102 psi

How do you set/messure pressure? Everytime the pump is attached you lose 2 to 4 psi...

What I found out about the fork is when you run more compression, the fork feels hard on landings and is bouncing off. When you run less air, the fork is diving under breaking. So, you have to figure out the middle. I personally run less compression with 158/159 psi. That works good for me on the motocross track with the big jumps on my 450.

I have been wondering this too. For me it's every time I disconnect the pump I loose bang on 2psi, so I just add two more than I need and that's that, I think....anyone else the same?.

Im 160lb and just added 10psi to the forks on my sxf I am now at 155psi. The shop set up my forks with the psi setting that is supposed to come on the Xcf. I only ride moto and haven't hit any trails yet. Next ride I will check to see if I lost 2psi when pulling the pump off.

No, you don't loose 2 lbs when you disconnect. The pressure escape you hear is the 150+/- that is in the pump, you loose the 2lbs when you reconnect the pump and 2lbs escaped your forks to pressurize the pump for the reading. You just have to remember whatever the guage reads when you connect it is actually 2psi lower than what the actual fork pressure was.

You're close.... Actually the pressure lose happens when you connect the pump to your fork because the X amount of PSI in the fork has to equalize it's X amount of PSI in with the zero PSI volume in the pump. So, whatever the pump guage reads is true, and you only lose psi in fork when you connect. Disconnecting only vents the psi in the pump.

17 450 SXF, 170 lbs (~78kg) and I'm running 148-155 depending on how rough the track is. Loving the forks so far but only have 10 hours on the bike so far.

I sold my cone valves and trax shock with 3 races left our season and I had never used my stock suspension until last month. Powerband had my AERs for a few months using them to design a spring conversion kit. He did like 3 small mods before sending them back to me. I wanted them to stay air because I didn't want it to maybe hurt the resale of my bike. I raced 3 very different tracks and practiced 3 other times on them and I feel that while they're not a cone valves plushness wise they are a very good fork and by far the best production WP fork that I've ever tried. I've been all over the place settings wise getting them set up but I'm very comfortable with them at 145psi and 18 compression and 14 on the rebound. I'm running them up on the 3rd line and I feel that for me it really makes the bike feel balanced and it turns great with zero hint of headshake. Hopefully I'll get one last ride this weekend before I sell it and am bike-less until the new FE's come in.

Digger have you heard anything on the new FEs? I always wondered why they didn't put a production version of a cone valve on them along with the bling. I believe it would sell.

I have a set of cone valves coming from Billy that hopefully should be here in a week or so. He told me last week he only had two sets that were not spoken for and the next batch would be late December. I've always wanted an A-kit fork and never could afford it until now, but even an old guy can enjoy stuff.

he said when you connect the pump the forks will loose 2 psi due to the air from the fork filling the hose, but, I'm sure you know more about suspension that Slip does... just saying WhistlingWhistlingWhistling

Thank you for the explanation Slip/Liver.

...still not 100% on it.

Interested in about how many rings through the top clamp people have too, as the post above mentioned the head shake!.

I haven't heard much other than there's going to be one. I did hear a cpl of rumors about them that is very interesting but I don't want to comment until I get them nailed down. You're going to love the cone valves. Worth every penny. They're like having added insurance for just in case shit happens :-)
