Is it true that the Monster Energy Cup is only allowing 250cc max on 2-strokes?!!!!!! Can anyone confirm this absolute BULLSHIT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like it is an Any cc 2 or 4, but "we" won't tell anyone, so that way, no one will race a big bore 2 stroke and beat the chokes. Official PR says 125 and 250 2 stroke, but the "in group" says it's open. Funny how that worked in the military, let's try it at the cup race. "don't ask, don't tell."

But it doesn't matter now, because the official PR has said for months it was 125 and 250 2 strokes, not open. So no one is gonna run one, guaranteed. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" worked really well.

@ML512, if Short ran top 10 on a 350 choke, a top guy would do just as good if not better on a 300 2 stroke, in comparison.

I know this won't do a thing for your ignorant close minded bullshit...

No one would race a 300cc two stroke...because they would get slaughtered just like a a 400-500cc 2 stroke would. Why because they are undeveloped. Service Honda's are great bikes for normal riders,, but the frame flex that was designed around a four stroke engine being in there..makes it unridable at that level. Chris Blose tried riding one at Mammoth and it was all over the place.. When factories are making motor mounts 1mm thinner and riders are noticing a difference, putting in a 2-stroke engine in replace of the the engine it came with, which by itself is designed as an integral piece of the frame is moronic. So at the very least you are stuck with boring out a 250cc that is 6 years old in design... or a ktm. To what? 280? ....why the fuck would any pro who is doing this for a living decide to do that? Remember MOST of the R&D budget is in NEW FRAME/CHASSIS design. It the trickiest, and hardest thing to get right.

KTM 300 is an actual bike???? 2012 frames are the same as 4 stroke frames. So have no idea WTF you are talking about.

I just checked. There is no max. Put the torches and pitchforks away.

Also, I'd guess that anyone who had any intent to bring one has already done the same thing I did.

The only technical rules are sound and fuel. Obviously anything to do with safety will be enforced, but no limit on displacement or really anything else. In- helmet communication, traction control, etc? It's all fair game.

For what it worth, I received an email from Lisa Kurowski of Feld Motorsports confirming that there are no displacement limits, but there are fuel limits.

Okay, lesson learned - Check before posting; and don't listen to bullsh-t from 500guy.

Ktm make a 300 kit for their 250 sx. There's a developed big bore 2 stroke right there. TM also make a 300, let's see some smokers out there. And for those who don't like 2 stroke threads, don't click on them. Go check your valves instead
