Always been something I've thought would be awesome, Having a job with either the series or a team. How many of you guys on here have traveled the series as work? Just curious of what all there is. Im in no position to try and get anything but it would be sweet!??
There is always the obvious, truck driver, mechanic, etc but who's done what else?

I've traveled both the SX and MX circuits full-time for the last eight years or so, but not with a team.

That doesn't count the three years or so before that when I was working for TWMX, and doing it part-time. Smile

I volunteered with the Rockwell Firepolice guys one sx season. I wrote race reports and did some social media stuff. It was fun. I didn't travel, but just being in contact with the team, the riders sometimes, and the moto media was cool. Now i'm helping with a local am team in western NY that has a connection to AG Motorsports.

It has been fun to volunteer and help out how I can. I recommend trying to get involved. The forum is fun, but there's a lot of gratification to be had just lending a hand and seeing a different side of moto.

I wish my job was "doing it part-time" you must have had the best job ever, haha. I will say I am jealous of guys that get to work in the industry everyday. I know it's not all flowers and sunshine...but neither is sitting in an office all day haha.

Surely your name is not Shirley........do we need to run your IP addy? Is this a auto correct issue? Please provide pics of TWMX models to confirm your employment history. Where are pics of Shirley and the new Kawasuki 450? You're surely lying at this point.

I've been with Yoshimura for the better part of 11 years, however havent worked on our sx/mx team nor traveled. That is a lot of commitment when one has a family.

I consider it more than a full time job, its a lifestyle...

I did travel however with Ben spies for a short stint for product development.

Yep, proof of de-evolution.

The monkeys devolved into Vitards.

I helped a team in 2010 for the WEST SX rounds, and I can say it was pretty cool, I was kind of the jack of all trades with the team. From scrubbing the rims of the semi, to making lunch, to doing track walk, tightening spokes, and everything in between.

It was definitely cool but a lot more work then most people would expect. I didn't have a family at the time, and truth be told I don't think I would have it in me to do it now that I have one.

If you have little to no stakes in the ground family wise you can probably find a gig as a teams...uhhhh....bitch boy. Do it for a year and im sure you will have your fill

I turned wrenches for several different racers for almost 10 years from CMC races thru Motocross Nationals and Supercross races, along with a stint with HONDA RESEARCH as a contract mechanic. Never made much money but would love to do it all over again.

The guy who does all my suspension and motorwork is the mechanic for the rocky Mountain supercross team (kyle partridge and bracken hall) and from what he says there are parts of the job that are awesome and parts are a struggle. He loves the bikes and the racing. But I know I would really struggle with the travel and being away from family.

That probably wouldn't be too bad. After retiring a year ago, I've been sitting on my ass doing nothing but reading vital every day, riding my 2 smoker and buying shi@ I don't need for my bike.

Traveling around watching races and posting on a outdated website is not a full time job. That's a joke, it's called a content management system...super easy. More worried about ads than the site...SEO bro.

I run the Traders Racing sx/mx team. This year was my first full year being a mechanic/ manager instead of being a racer and honestly it does have its ups an downs but if its your passion like it is for me there is no better job in my eyes. Its 24-7 12-14 hour day job but its awesome
