Anyone know why Ben Riddle disappeared off the face of the earth after getting a factory ride, and where is he at now? Still racing at all?

A few years back (maybe 4-6) I encountered the smiling lad racing a CRF 450 at

Dan Boone (KY) in a 4 stroke Nat - past that, I heard ( unsubstantiated) stories of

underground bare-knuckled fighting and street bikes,

I miss that kid, an amazing talent and his dad (Steve?) was one cool dude.

He was from Alabama, right ?
Yeah, Clark is working for Dunlop in Huntsville testing tires. He has also been doing some riding schools around Alabama.

Yeah pretty much.

He is in the slammer right now. He got into drugs and was about to get out when he tried to sneak drugs back into prison and got caught.

Wasted talent for sure.

Unforunately for Riddle, he started his pro career injured and just never got to really shine.

Last I heard, about a year ago he jacked his Femur up badly in a sportbike wreck...

There was a engine builder in AZ who just got busted, Yves Edge or something. I think he's on the run!

That's a damn shame. I grew up racing with Ben, he was always cool except for his little blow up at Whitney right before turning pro. It's kinda depressing how many fast kids didn't make it from that age group. The one guy I wouldn't have pegged to do anything in my age group was Short, look how that turned out..

I remember watching him rail the inside of catchers mit one year at shoug sooo damn smooth.Dude had skills. Sad to see all that talent sitting behind bars.
