Press Release

The Stimilon Motocross Challenge is Back!

March 20, 2009 - After a (not so) brief seven-year hiatus, the famed New England “Party” will be returning to the Northeast early this summer. Saturday June 20th the Southwick National Track in Massachusetts will play host to a very unique event. Billed as “Not Your Children’s Motocross”, the mostly Vet attendance enjoys a weekend of racing, partying, riding and more riding. The Saturday Race, Saturday evening Party, and Sunday Practice format has proven to be a hit. Pre Registration opened Tuesday March 17th and in just the first three days the event has drawn are over 80 Pre-Paid Entries.

The Stimilon Motocross Challenge was originally held from 1999-2002 and carried a massive following in the few short years of its existence. The event limits entries to ensure plenty of riding for all (500 for racing and 200 for Open Practice the next day) which explains the rush to get signed up.

There are classes for all types including the Never Ever (beginner class), The Headlight (Enduro class) and the Keeping It Real (2 Stroke Open). Riders are called out based on their ability level: Hack (novice), Wanna Be (amateur) and Rockstar (Expert), as well as Jobless (25+), Old (30+), Crusty (35+), Brittle (40+) and Decrepit (45+) among others…

There is a $5000 purse up for grabs with a $1000 to the winner for each of the 250 and 450 mains held at the end of the day. Payout is 10 deep in both mains with an additional $125 holeshot award. And, with this being an off week from the Nationals (following the High Point in PA round) several Industry players are already rumored to be showing up to throw down.
