Team BTOsports.com start the season strong at Hangtown

Rancho Cordova, CA - As the motocross world converged on to the famed Hangtown Motocross track, the BTOsports Motocross/BBMX race team took to the first round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with the full team ready to kick the outdoors off in the right direction.  With team rider Michael Byrne returning to action, Jimmy Albertson coming off a strong finish to the SX season, and Jason Thomas, all three riders were ready to step it up a notch. 

Returning to the team, Michael Byrne was just looking to get the first race back under his belt.  He did just that as he would ride strong both motos scoring 18-22 for 22nd overall.  The first moto Byrne would get a good start and ride strong within the top 20.  He would  battle at the end of the race with teammate Jimmy Albertson, eventually finishing 18th.  In the second moto, Byrne would suffer from a mid-pack start and couldn’t move forward, finishing in 22nd.   A solid ride for his first race back after his injuries.

Jimmy Albertson would finish the day really strong, as his 17-12 for 13th overall would show.  The first moto didn’t start off too well, as “Top” Jimmy would struggle with a horrible start, sticking him back in 32nd after the first lap.  But that’s when the rockets came on and Albertson would charge through the pack all the way to the 17th position where he finished.  In moto two, a better start would keep Albertson close to the front, and riding aggressively would finish a strong 12th place.  No doubt “Top” Jimmy is finding his groove outdoors and look for him to make his way into the top ten next week.

Jason Thomas felt strong at Hangtown and with his 30-29 for 31st overall he is riding consistent.  The first moto JT$ suffered a bad start, getting stuck in the back of the pack.  In the second moto, JT would get a better start, and JT would put in a charge to the 29th position. No doubt not the weekend that JT$ would have wanted, but he is preparing for next weekend to come back strong.

As the team heads to round two at Freestone, TX, look for the BTOsports.com/BBMX team riders to be up in the mix next weekend!
