Camera Memory Card Question

I have an older Olympus-CAMEDIA-C-740-Ultra-Zoom-Digital camera that I was able to swap memory cards with another smaller Olympus digital camera that was more convenient to carry around. Well that camera got stolen (smaller one) along with the larger 1 GB card.

So I got another Olympus camera (FE-20) to replace the stolen one and purchased an XD Picture M2GB card so I could be able to swap the cards like before.
I put it in the (FE-20) camera first and have been taking all my recent photos with it—convenient yes but the picture quality isn’t nearly as good. I tried putting it in my Olympus camera (fits fine in the slot) but it does not work. Says “NEEDS TO BE REFORMATTED”. I have tried by erasing all the pics on the card, as I don’t have any other options but it does not work?

I’m not real camera savy (as you can tell) so WTF is wrong?

Hi,Most cameras i have used including my old point and shoot camera have a "Format" option somewhere in the camera's menu,Look again and see it its there somewhere,Formating wipes out everything on the card so make sure you downloaded anything important. Erasing photos isn't the same as formating the card.
